Flame Tongue

Flame Tongue is a magic item for your D&D table. Speak its command word and the blade bursts into flame, lighting the dark and burning foes.

The Flame Tongue looks like an ordinary sword until its owner speaks the command word. Then fire races along the blade, adding fire damage to every hit and lighting up the room like a torch.

The DM can give it to a hero who loves to be in front, or hide it in a forge or a dragon's hoard. It is great in dark caves, where its light shows what is waiting around the corner.
