GrowlMaster

Wooden Dice

A full set of wooden DnD dice, ready to throw: the grain runs across every face, the numbers are carved in, and each roll lands with the dry knock of wood on wood. Free, in your browser, on a phone or a computer.

A wooden set in your browser

The first time you open this page, your six dice start out wooden: a d4, a d6, a d8, a d10, a d12 and a d20, each its own brown, from pale maple to dark walnut. They roll on a sand-coloured felt, where a wooden set looks best.

Real wooden dice are light and soft, so players keep them for special games and roll them gently. These you can throw as hard as you like.

Make the set yours

  • Make a die lighter or darker, from honey to nearly black, in the settings (the cog).
  • Choose the colour of its numbers, and whether they are carved or flat.
  • Give it another sound: wood cracks, bones, pebbles or a soft thud.
  • Put a symbol on its top number, like a star on the d20.

Wooden dice questions

  • Yes. Rolling them, changing them and keeping them is free, with or without an account.

  • The wooden set is where new dice start. If you rolled dice here before, your own dice are kept just as you left them.

  • Real wooden dice can be a little uneven, since wood is light and its grain changes through the die. These are rolled by the computer, so every number has the same chance.

  • Yes. The set has a d20, and two d10 rolled together give a number from 01 to 100.

  • Yes. They stay on this device, and when you sign in they are kept in your account for every device.

Now roll for a real adventure

GrowlMaster is D&D for kids and families, ages 6 and up. It runs the whole game at your table: the adventure, the heroes, the monsters, the map and the battles, with the dice you just made.

Growlboard, its soundboard, brings the tavern music, the dragon's roar and the creaking door at the press of a button.

Gorak, GrowlMaster's orc, waits at the gate:

"You roll well, master. Goblin's Cave is ready. Come in."
